“Doesn’t feel real”
Is Davis being used as an arch to get Annie more ‘indoctrinated’? I see Annie as progressing into a lot of other avenues that Davis can’t capture [especially the cajun fiddle to expand to the rest of Acadiana]. Annie can bring out the young couple in the city narrative well, but I can’t see Davis having strong relationship skills (his often disjointed eclectic vibe)
Annie’s a lot tougher than we realized when watching the first season the first time through. Meaning tough in the way an artist is tough about their work and their career coming ahead of everything else. It’s a lot more immediate this season. This viewer, at least, really likes it.
Last season, with so many of us watching with the fate of another couple who survived the storm and the flood overlaid upon Annie and Sonny, her ambition was obscured by that, as well as the period they and the city were experiencing.
On first I disliked Davis enormously but I guess it takes a bit to get used to him. I love seeing them as a couple, she certainly deserved somebody better then Sonny.
