Elvis Killed Me

I’ve got a bone to pick with the Treme writers today.

Now, I know the scene was in there to prove a small point and to set up a situation outside d.b.a. later in the show, but really, y’all. Elvis Costello can’t take time out of doing some arranging for The River In Reverse and take up an invitation from Big Sam Williams, one of New Orleans’ own, (backed up by Allen Toussaint’s approval) to go see Galactic? ‘Cause that overachieving Englishman is too tired???

He wasn’t too tired to hang with these guys on CBS:

Vodpod videos no longer available. Vodpod videos no longer available.

Also, was anyone else thinking 701 release when Delmond Lambreaux got picked up for toking outside the club? Glad his daddy stepped in, else it still would have been at least 60 days for a man with as many gigs as he’s got. It’s okay if you weren’t, as there was more than enough going on with LaDonna’s brother in the jaws of the Louisiana prison-industrial beast to ensure that Marlin Gusman will be having several cows.

Hell, I figured he and Allen were probably headed over to Irene’s for dinner instead and let the young ’ems go have their fun without the boss around.

Heh… or, if it were a fast-forward into now, they’d be popping into Domenica.
